Patrick Quick.

Cambridge-based interior plasterer. Owner, sole director, and the person who turns up to your job.

Pat's recent vaulted ceiling work, fresh gib stopping under exposed roof structure
the short version

One bloke, one number, since 2021.

Pat set Total Stopping Limited up as a registered NZ company on 5 August 2021 (Co# 8216139). The business is owner-operated, Pat is the one who quotes the job, turns up to the site, runs the stop, and signs it off.

That matters because in this trade you don't want a sales guy who quotes the job and then sends an apprentice who's never been on site. The person standing on your scaffold is the person you spoke to on the phone.

  • Registered NZ company, sole director
  • Cambridge-based, working across Waikato
  • Insured, GST registered, paper trail clean
  • Trade-rate work for builders, fixed-price for homeowners
how it tends to go

The usual flow.

Most jobs follow the same pattern. There's no surprise on either side.

  1. 01

    Phone call or text

Send Pat a few photos of the room and a rough square metre figure. He'll usually come back same day with a ballpark.

  2. 02

    On-site look (if needed)

For bigger jobs or anything weird (raked ceilings, fire-rated gib, awkward access), Pat will drop in and look at it before quoting properly.

  3. 03

    Fixed price, written down

No surprises mid-job. If the scope changes (extra rooms, extra patching), you're told before the work happens, not on the invoice.

  4. 04

    The actual stop

Tape, base, second coat, sand, finish. Cleaned up at the end of each day so the rest of the site keeps moving.

  5. 05

    Handover, painter walks in

Pat walks the room with you (or the builder) before he goes. If anything needs another coat, it gets another coat.
